Deglet Nour Dates

These are Deglet Nour Dates which are native to the Middle East and have been a part of the region’s cuisine for thousands of years. They grow on huge trees called date palms in large clusters - like bunches of grapes, which hang higher than fifty feet off the ground.

How To Cook

Cooking With Pitted Dates

Dates add a touch of sweetness when added to yoghurt, cereals, porridge and smoothies.

They team up exceptionally well on a meat and cheese board, and pair brilliantly in savoury meals - think salads, tagines, rice or couscous dishes.

You can eat them as they are (but think moderation as they are very moreish!) or combine them into a nut and seed mix.

They can also be used in baking in place of sugar. Just chop them up and simmer in a little bit of water first.
